SWIS Services standards

The Saskatchewan SWIS Coordination, in collaboration with its member organizations across Saskatchewan offering frontline SWIS services, strive to support newcomer families and their children especially those of school age in consonance with professional standards and service model below:

  1. A client-centered approach unique to each individual’s need
  2. Confidential relationships that foster trust and understanding
  3. Ethical strategies for each case and client
  4. Culturally appropriate behaviours and interactions
  5. Non-judgmental treatment of the client and context
  6. Inclusive approaches to strategies and solutions
  7. Accessibility to SWIS at all levels of interaction
  8. Respectful and sensitive interaction with the client and context
  9. Encourage and empower individual and professional independence

As well as service standards, we at SWIS believe that values are fundamental principles that guide behavior and provide direction in making decisions. Adhering to common values ensures consistency and effectiveness despite the uniqueness of an individual client’s needs or circumstances.
